I am very impressed by Ghent, CP.

Being from Australia we don't have buildings and beautiful architecture like that here. The earliest would be the late 1800's.
It's probably why I love places such as Ghent because I don't get to see things like that. Czech Republic is another place as well.

"The grass is always greener..." ; I'd love to go to Australia myself, I showed interest in a students exchange program in Sydney but it was barred because of my health state :(

Bruges is full of canals and old buildings as well, a bit like Ghent but slightly smaller. You'd like Belgium I think, as there's many medieval cities (Ghent, Antwerp, Leuven, Bruges)

I heard Nottingham is the city with 10 single women per single man... I doubt if it's true though, it may be a cheap trick from the local tourism board :D

Germany also has places like that too but yes, Belgium is definately on my places to see. Very much so.

Germany, and even Holland. I'd say the whole of Europe is quite suitable for good architecture. Let's not forget Austria, Prague and Italy! Venice and Salzburg for example are stunning cities. Venice is weird: you know exactlty what you can expect, but once you arrive there you're still deeply impressed by so much beauty.

I'm from Philadelphia. No nonsense tolerated. Ben Franklin wanted to know more about the connection between electricity and lightning, so he flew a kite during a thunderstorm.
