Probably "Ocean Rain" by Echo & The Bunnymen. But I love sad songs, they are very self-reflecting often. Ocean Rain is not only the gloomiest song I ever heard, but also the most perfect song I ever heard.

All at sea again, right now my hurricanes
have brought down this ocean rain
to bathe me again.
My ship's a sail, can you hear its tender frame
screaming from beneath the waves?
All hands on deck at dawn
Sailing to sadder shores
Your port in my heavy storms
harbours the blackest thoughts

It sounds incredibly romantic, that song. Until you focus on the lyrics.

What is the spookiest song you ever heard?
Keep it flaming your desire, always rising higher - Aim for stars and hit the sky
(Echo & The Bunnymen - Evergreen, 1996)

Capital punishment = murder

Strange Fruit

Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

What is the strangest album name you have ever heard?
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

"Devendra Banhart - Oh Me Oh My... The Way The Day Goes By The Sun IS Setting Dogs Are Dreaming Lovesongs Of The Christmas Spirit" strange enough? :D

Is there any record as sad as Dylan's Blood On The Tracks?

Yeah. "Snowball" by The Field Mice. But it's sad in a Smithsy way - perfect melancholy.

What's your musical guilty pleasure? (Have no shame....)

sin ropas, their EP.
"x is for christmas" is a track on it, last one in fact--following the likes of "broketail squirrel" and "stutter" (which is thoroughly paralyzing, by the way  )

but this 'x is for christmas' stuff....
the lead singer, tim, is definitely not known for his ....errrmmm....oratory skills, shall we say. :D (a friend once said he sounds like Beck on quaaludes :D

as short as it is, it's really a bit much

alas, as the elko asked:

Nineties dance. Stuff like Ace Of Base, Captain Jack, Steps, Whigfield, ... My only excuse is that childhood memories are attached to those songs.

Next question:

Would you ever consider skydiving or is it way too risky for you?

i'm not sure if 'determined' is the right word, but i'd sure like to read "Process and Reality" by Alfred North Whitehead. i've started it four times, but just can't quite maintain that level of logic long enough to finish it.

i would buy a keyboard and monitor like this, would you?

Oh, yes! I actually ran across the keyboard a few months back along with detailed instructions on how to make one yourself. Unfortunately, I don't have the tools to attempt to make one myself.

Have you ever done Karaoke?

The world should celebrate the fact that no, I have not.
