UNCUT Magazine UK
March 2007

This month's issue has a special section devoted to celebrating the Smiths' 20 years. It's got the top 30 tracks of all time, as well as other popoular musicians who adore the Smiths too.

There is also an interview with Johnny Marr!

Yeah, I did see that and had a quick browse in the shop. I didn't see the Marr interview though, is it an in-depth one?

It's pretty good as it has the run down of the best smiths songs ever, according to other bands who were influenced by them. Narked at the price, but it's one to add to the collection.

The cd with it wasn't brilliant, minus two or three tracks.

Got it.

Some decent views on The Smiths songs, particularly from Mike Joyce on 'Hand In Glove'

I was looking for it the whole day long until I finally got it. It's really hard to get that english stuff around here but every once in a while they have Uncut somewhere. Bought it at the railway station today and somehow forgot everything around it in the warm and cosy waiting room. I even forgot that my lunch break was over. :D

Saw it in Sainsbury's had a quick peek. My brother maintained until that moment the Smiths were rubbish butn when he saw lumineries as Russell Brand and Kele Oreke amongst the plaudits and he marked them out as 'legends' then he was reasonably quiet. :P

Oooh i saw this im WHSmiths and had a browse, it was quite obvious to have How Soon is Now as number one but still, it was a decent run down. the cd that came with it was ok too, i was gonna get it but i can never justify buying any music magazines other than the totally ace PlanB :P

It's a good article, though I'm quite astonished that "Still Ill" and "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore" aren't considered among the top 30 Smiths songs, and I'd personally like to have seen "Pretty Girls Make Graves", "Death of a Disco Dancer", "Stretch Out and Wait", "Well I Wonder", "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others", "Paint a Vulgar Picture" and "A Rush and a Push and the Land is Ours" up there, too. 4th place for "What Difference Does It Make" seems generous, too, but overall it's a good article and it's interesting to read the comments about the particular songs.

<!--sizeo:2--><span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Well, without a doubt:

This song is absolutely perfect.
The combinatin of the music, the melody,
the lyrics and Morrissey's sublime voice
have made this song my all time favourite
song for many years.

I am never tired of listening to it, especially
with headphones on.

There is a better world, well...there must be !!

Long live The Smiths and Morrissey
