All about The Smiths' music, gigs, stories, anything.

...i'm just curious since it's regarded by most people the worst Smiths song...personally i find it highly entertaining, i guess it's about Morrissey's gay intention...it reminds of the sound of Depeche Mode...

It's a decent enough song, but it's really treading over old musical ground, and doesn't match up to things like Rusholme Ruffians or Vicar In A Tutu. It also sounds kinda tame, and over-produced, there's barely a second without some strange noise. I like production tricks, but there are times when it only detracts from the song. Lyrically, there just isn't much to it, as far as I'm concerned.

Having said that, when listening to Strangeways in it's entirity, it does fit in perfectly, and sets up I Won't Share You as just the most beautiful thing imaginable.

despite having one of the worst openings to any song i've ever heard (seriously), the rest of the song is actually pretty good.

I've never quite understood the rejection and dislike surrounding this song - it won't make my 'top 20' Smiths' song, but still I find it pretty entertaining and different form the rest. \Elko is right, there are too much sound effects, not serving any purpose in particular, especially considering how short the song is. But apart from this, i find it pretty agreable. :)
And it is a Smiths' song - and to me there aren't any not-good Smiths' songs :P Even if comes as not that strong, compared to their other tracks, still it's a good one per se.

I've never understood the hype surrounding this 'bad' song. I've always like it, apart from it's forgettable lyrics. This one on Strangeways makes me think of the same unpopularity 'Barbarism' has on MIM.

I have a theory that it might be Glenn Hysen, swedish footballer who played for Liverpool back in the 80's... Sounds a bit like a long shot?

i never really considered it as a bad song....just maybe my least favourite on strangeways. if it was any longer i probably would skip it but it's just long enough to make it likeable.

Oh, come on, it's not that bad. I don't see anything bad on the sound effects.
