Despite the Smiths being labelled by some as highly depressing, the music does contain lot of romance. The whole idea of There Is A Light... for example is highly romantic IMO, despite the macabre touch. In fact, when thinking of it, some lines from Smiths classics make excellent chat-up lines...
Give in to lust, give up to lust, heaven knows we'll soon be dustTo die by your say would be a pleasure and privilegeSend me the pillow, the one that you dream on, and I'll send you mineLet me put my hands on your mammary glandsIf there's something you'd like to try, ask me, I won't say no. How could I?I am human and I need to be loved, just like anybody else doesRomantic, poetic, yet a bit bizarre and mysterious, sometimes with a little humoristic touch... It may just surprise her enough to make it work!
