Seasick but still docked - I cry on the bus when I hear it - just sums me up in musci form pathetic self pity from the moz man but noone does it better or more beautifully!!
Disappointed - I likee the drums I think
He Knows I'd love to see him - I just enjoy the mental possibility that this could be about Johnny Marr - as Johnny Rogan claims although I know its not!! the beethoven was deaf version is just glorious possibly Moz's best song for me!!
Dagenham Dave - I have the Oye Esteban videos collection now and the video is very cool and i just like it
Oh Phoney - sounds like it could've been done by the smiths dunno why?
Striptease with a difference - very arch clever lyrics intirguing song
Yes, I am blind - which was written with Andy Rourke and is tres cool although a bit depressing and reflective of my emotional state for me to take at times!!
You're Gonna need somebody on your side just good old fashioned rocks
Sister I'm a Poet the version on the album is inferior to that on the DVD but so what its still cool

I'm sure there are others and its not in any order but there you have it!!

These are a few of my moz related favourite things

EVERY DAY IS LIKE SUNDAY IS A DIRECT QUOTE FROM L. FRANK BAUM'S WIZARD OF OZ #6!!! aka The Emerald City Of Oz....I JUST READ IT WITH MY OWN BESPECTACLED EYES!
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

I don't exactly seem to be in a majority here, but to me, "Late night, Maudlin street" is the only Morrissey song that would have graced any Smiths album with its presence. Other favorites:

Dial a cliche
Bengali in Platforms
Margaret on the Guillotine
Angel, down we go together
The last of the famous international playboys
Interesting drug
Lifeguard sleeping, girl drowning
Now my heart is full

cheers

Can't say I'm overly familiar with his solo stuff, but from what I've heard, probably 'Tomorrow' and 'You're The One For Me Fatty' are my favourites, just because they are good fun to listen to. Although from his newer stuff I love '...Crashing Bores', fantastic song, and which ever live/session version of it I used to have was fantastic.

i have tried subsequently to relisten and though Late night isn't too bad i wouldn't say it's a favourite... do you think it sounds like a smiths track paticularly or that it is as good Qvist?

have you heard Oh Phoney? I can totally hear Johnny playing that bizzarely but then it wasn't released.

I listened to Moz recently and Angel Angel is beautiful imagine being the subject of that amount of love....? it makes me cry almost when i hear that Johnny is/was lucky!!

I guess it's not particularly Smithsy as such, it's more that I've always found it such a strong song. It has something of the intensity and seriousness that I think is trademark Smiths but which is somehow missing in most of Morrissey's solo work.
