i assume you mean 'Just' for 'you do it to yourself'. What on earth is vacant, lol sorry im a massive radiohead fan so get quite angry/pedantic when ppl make ups names of songs <!--emo&-->Image<!--endemo-->
<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Er, wasn't thinking about internet forums and their politics when I wrote that one, didn't know about them back in the day when I taped "The Bends" off a friends CD. <!--emo&-->Image<!--endemo--> I love that tape but for some reason have never felt inclined to find out the song titles... So what's the name of the first song on "The Bends" then? "Vacant" is the only word I could make out from the chorus--if I made it out correctly!

Since you're a big fan, though, maybe you can give me a take on the meaning of "Just"? I've always wondered if Yorke was addressing the chorus to himself or another person. Love it either way, anyway. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Don't worry about people being all anal if you don't know the names of songs. The important thing is to love the music..... <!--emo&-->Image<!--endemo-->

A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :

God, this is so damn tricky!! I actually can't pick a particularly concise number so prepare for a big rambling post...

The Smiths - Still Ill, Asleep, Suffer Little Children, There Is A Light..., Cemetry Gates, Pretty Girls Make Graves, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, Stretch Out And Wait, I Won't Share You (damn, that seems excessive!)
Jeff Buckley - Dream Brother, Hallelujah
Jackson Browne - Late For the Sky, Sky Blue and Black
Morrissey - Lost, Late Night, Maudlin Street, The More You Ignore Me...
PJ Harvey - This Is Love
Placebo - Peeping Tom
Radiohead - Talk Show Host
Ryan Adams - Goodnight, Hollywood Blvd.
Queen - Spread Your Wings, Bohemian Rhapsody (it's just gotta go in there!)

Oof, that was so hard! I think I need a lie-down now.

I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving
England is mine, it owes me a living
But ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
Oh, ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore
No, we cannot cling to those dreams
Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?
I dunno...
Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill...?

Noonan, you're surely familiar with the Trashcan Sinatras? They're originally from your hometown. Poor guys are trying real hard to make their latest release successful. What are your thoughts? I really like them, as anyone on this board will yawn and agree! <!--emo&:D-->Image<!--endemo--> Oh, and the two brothers first saw the Smiths in Irvine long ago. Maybe the same as your infamous Morrissey encounter.

Okay I'm passing time before I pick up my husband and friend from the football game. (Our small-market underdogs -- the Chargers-- won a huge game today. They may be headed for the playoffs. Anyway......)
You guys have some pretty obscure musical tastes. A couple of favorite songs that popped into my head: The Recluse - Cursive
Fortress - Pinback

Excellent, Sylvian is a genius! Forgot some of his songs... Wanderlust, Darkest Dreaming, September...
