spoke to my friend last night on the tele. he thinks that the enormous increase of people purchasing their music via the interweb will eventually put shops like this out of business, so he's going in other directions. :(

it's a major investment after all, so i can't blame him for being a bit reluctant.

maybe i need to talk to him about my visionary plans to bring the shop more up-to-date? i dunno. big decision, lots of factors.

Beck fan huh? I have an extra copy of Golden Feelings Autographed, and a few other extras signed.
Interested?

I have been a fan of Beck since his first single! back in '93 MTV Makes me wanna smoke crack!

I bought the 'best of' compilation of All About Eve yesterday. I mainly wanted to have "Our summer" and "Flowers in our hair" in my collection, but the rest of the album is very satisfying as well.

How stupid can I be to start buying extra stuff just before an expensive relocation needs to be paid?

I was at that show, so it makes it kinda extra special for me.

I tried to find records of the Bauhaus shows I attended last year, however couldn't find them. We in Europe don't have anything like the US company that records gigs and releases them officially. Here we only got bootlegs and they can be hard to get, especially in a country like Ireland where bootleg sales are completely underground. I attended the Dublin and Berlin shows of the last Bauhaus tour, and tried to get a bootleg through the Bauhaus messageboard and a few goth sites, no one had any record of the shows although I did hear the rumour they have definitely been taped.

Beck fan, indeed!!
nice pictures. i've always liked his music, even before he was 'popular.'
i appreciate the offer, but i've enough vices the way it is without getting into collecting things like this. (if i got one of his autographed items, i'd never let up--that's just the way i am.) thanks for the offer though, that's cool of you.

 dang. you ARE tall, aren't you?

right now: the Black Keys doing a cover of: "She Said, She Said" (and it is splentific!!! :D )

Going to purchase the Echo & The Bunnymen DVD of their London shows in 2005 tomorrow... I already have the CD record of the show but can't resist to also buy the DVD.

Still trying to find the Mabool album by Orphaned Land but nowhere available in any store... I guess I will need to do some internet shopping but don't look forward to the shipping costs ; by the time the order is processed I will already have moved to Turkey and I expect some high shipping costs if I use Amazon.

You may find some, ehm, 'interesting and unexpected' stuff on the hard drive that are less music-related as well  A friend of mine did. He got the PC of a friend who moved away, when he took over the computer he discovered his old pal's secret porn collection which he had forgotten to wipe off the HD

heh....seeing the collection of pr0n from someone else IS a trip, isn't it? you think you know someone and then.....

so, i think i got these:
Mendoza Line: Full of Light and Full of Fire
Mississippi John Hurt: Avalon Blues: The Complete 1928 Okeh Recordings
Modest Mouse: We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
Stark Reality: Now
U2: Boy (i've that on imported vinyl, with a collection of 45's hits/B-sides/rare versions on the side, but not the regular studio version on CD, so this was nice to hear again)

and despite all that, my friend and I spent most of last night listening to Mike Watt and Ween.

 heh...my friend knows that i have 'certain' folders on my external hard-drive that will not appeal to his straight sensibilities, and likewise. it's so nice to be honest!!
